HELP WANTED! HVPS needs people in the following areas: Bus Drivers, Custodial, Cafeteria. If interested, please call Superintendent Martin at 575-653-4411 ext 204
Due to an abundance of caution, staff and student absences, and the growing number of COVID-19 cases on and off campus, HVPS is canceling the Veteran's Day program on Thursday November 11, 2021. Our primary goal this year is to keep the school open with in person learning and we believe limiting the visitors to our campus at this time is the best way to do that. Thank you for your continued support.
This urgent message is to inform the Hondo Valley community that HVPS is at great risk for school closure and moving to remote learning, or quarantining an entire grade or group of students because of the increasing number of students and staff testing positive for COVID-19.
To avoid school closure we ask that if your child or anyone in your household are showing signs of illness (please see the below) please stay home and out of all public spaces. If your child or anyone in your household tests positive for COVID-19, please keep your child home from school, and notify Marvin Martin at 575-653-4411 as soon as possible.
Hondo Valley Public Schools policy states that if a student has any COVID-19 symptoms (please see the below), they are strongly urged to be tested for COVID-19. If your child tests negative, they may return to school once symptoms improve. If your child tests positive or you choose not to test a student who is symptomatic, they must quarantine for 10 days.
Testing is available at HVPS every Thursday 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. or at Curative Testing sites in Ruidoso every day. Please go to Curative Testing at https://curative.com/#10.72/33.3101/-105.632 to find a test site and schedule a test.
Please keep our community safe by staying home if you are sick and wearing a mask in all public areas. Notify Marvin Martin at 575-653-4411 for guidance if you must quarantine or have any further questions.
